Thoughts for Today

Say to yourself every morning:
- Today is going to be a great day!
- I can handle more than I think I can!
- Things don't get better by worrying about them!
- I can be satisfied if I try to do my best!
- There's always something to be happy about!
- I'm going to make someone happy today!
- It's not good to be down!
- Life is great, make the most of it!

Stability

“Most people think they have to control everything around them. And we all do that to a certain extent. But what can you really control in a world where everything is so increasingly unpredictable and changing? If your attention is focused on controlling things around you, you will loose your focus on what is really important for you, and will be wasting your time and energy. But if your attention is focused on your own sense of purpose, on what you know you have to do, then you will always be able to find your way, even amidst the most challenging circumstances.”
B. Bacon, Oxford Leadership Academy

Success is achieved through accurate efforts

Normally we tend to associate success with what we get, rather than how much effort we put in. So sometimes when things don’t turn out the way we expect them to, we tend to have negative feelings because of the thought of being unsuccessful. So we tend to stop putting in further efforts for success.

When I put in accurate efforts for the success of every task, I naturally try to do the best. Because of my own contribution, others too help me and contribute whatever they can to achieve what I set out to do. So there is success in everything. When I do the right thing, I will be able to experience constant self-progress, even if the result is not what I have expected.

‘solution conscious’ approach

A ‘solution conscious’ approach to communication, problem solving and creativity would therefore follow the pattern:
1/ Identify the problem.
2/ Be aware of it but do not over-analyse it, do not focus on it.
3/ Know what you want to achieve - your positive vision of the future: how things would be without this problem?
4/ Imagine and precisely describe this ‘ideal’ state.
5/ Compare your present situation with this desired future state: What is missing between the two? Ask yourself the question: How did we reach there? What did we do to achieve this ‘perfect’ state? Brainstorm it.
6/ Identify precisely what you need to do to reach that state.
7/ Look around you - your assets, your skills, your relationships, your personal experience and knowledge - to find what you can use to do it and write an action plan with SMART goals. SMART goals are Specific , Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time bounded.

Why is peace lost in relationships?

Who are the thieves of peace?
Why is peace lost in relationships?
Complains, guilt and comparison are the main destroyers of peace. Instead of complaining, share newness. Instead of looking for someone to blame, take responsibility for improving the situation. Instead of comparing yourself to others, value the good that is in them.
